Pony
A pony is a small horse (Equus ferus caballus). Depending on context, a pony may be a horse that is under an approximate or exact height at the withers, or a small horse with a specific conformation and temperament. There are many different breeds. Compared to other horses, ponies often exhibit thicker manes, tails and overall coat, as well as proportionally shorter legs, wider barrels, heavier bone, thicker necks, and shorter heads with broader foreheads. The word "pony" derives from the old French poulenet, meaning foal, a young, immature horse, but this is not the modern meaning; unlike a horse foal, a pony remains small when fully grown. However, on occasion, people who are unfamiliar with horses may confuse an adult pony with a foal.

Ponny
Ponny är en mindre variant av häst. Gränsen mellan ponny och stor häst är artificiell, och sätts vid tävlingssammanhang vid en mankhöjd mindre än 148 cm. Många ponnyraser som används i Sverige idag härstammar från de brittiska öarna. Vilda, icke avlade hästar är oftast i ponnystorlek.

Kuc
Kuc - niewielki koń o wysokości w kłębie nie przekraczającej 149 cm w podkowach(na zawodach przy mierzeniu 151 w podkowach). Kuce są wytrzymałe. Stosowane do nauki jazdy konnej i hipoterapii dzieci, a także do transportu lekkich ładunków oraz w cyrku.
Rozgrywane są zawody w kategorii kuce (od regionalnych do Mistrzostw Europy). W skokach przez przeszkody Mistrzostwa Polski rozgrywane są na wysokości do 120 cm, a na Mistrzostwach Europy najwyższe przeszkody mierzą 145 cm. Organizowane są także konkursy w kategorii ujeżdżenia i WKKW.
Na zawodach wyróżnia się cztery podstawowe grupy kucy:
- A - do 121 cm w podkowach (dzieci do 11 lat włącznie)
- B - do 131 cm w podkowach (dzieci od 12 do 14 lat włącznie)
- C - do 141 cm w podkowach (dzieci od 12 do 16 lat włącznie)
- D - do 149 cm w podkowach (dzieci od 12 do 16 lat włącznie)
