plon

Plön is the district seat of the Plön district in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, and has about 13,000 inhabitants. It lies right on Schleswig-Holstein's biggest lake, the Großer Plöner See, as well as on several smaller lakes, touching the town on virtually all sides. The town's landmark is the Schloss Plön, a  chateau built in the 17th century on a hill overlooking the town.

Plön ist die Kreisstadt des Kreises Plön in Schleswig-Holstein und hat etwa 13.000 Einwohner. Sie liegt direkt am größten Binnensee Schleswig-Holsteins, dem Großen Plöner See. Wahrzeichen der Stadt ist das Schloss, das im 17. Jahrhundert erbaut wurde.Plön besitzt ein Gymnasium mit 300-jähriger Geschichte, ist Standort einer Marineunteroffizierschule und Sitz des Max-Planck-Instituts für Limnologie. Die in die hügelige Seenlandschaft der Holsteinischen Schweiz eingebettete Stadt hat auch touristische Bedeutung.

Plön is een gemeente in de Duitse deelstaat Sleeswijk-Holstein, gelegen in het district Plön, aan een binnenzee van de Oostzee; het Grote Plöner meer.De plaats heeft 13.004 inwoners. (31 december 2002) Het symbool van de stad is het Slot Plön, dat uit 1633 dateert. Het was lange tijd een internaat, tot het in 2003 werd gekocht door een zakenman die er een academie voor opticiens vestigde. In Plön is ook het Max-Planck-Instituut voor Limnologie gevestigd.
