In
baseball, a pitch out is a strategic action by the
pitcher and
catcher where the ball is intentionally thrown hard, high, and outside in anticipation of a runner stealing a base. The catcher will jump out of the crouch position when the pitch is delivered, setting him up for a quick and unobstructed throw for the out.
