IMAGE
IMAGE (from Imager for Magnetopause-to-Aurora Global Exploration), or Explorer 78, was a NASA MIDEX mission that studied the global response of the Earth's magnetosphere to changes in the solar wind. It was launched March 25, 2000 by a Delta II rocket from Vandenberg AFB and ceased operations in December 2005.

Imager for Magnetopause-to-Aurora Global Exploration (IMAGE, auch Explorer 78) war ein Forschungssatellit der NASA, der als Explorer-Mission der MIDEX-Klasse (Middle-sized Explorer) die Einflüsse des Sonnenwinds auf die Magnetosphäre untersuchte.

Une image est une représentation visuelle voire mentale de quelque chose (objet, être vivant et/ou concept). Elle peut être naturelle (ombre, reflet) ou artificielle (peinture, photographie), visuelle ou non, tangible ou conceptuelle (métaphore), elle peut entretenir un rapport de ressemblance directe avec son modèle ou au contraire y être liée par un rapport plus symbolique. Pour la sémiologie ou sémiotique, qui a développé tout un secteur de sémiotique visuelle, l'image est conçue comme produite par un langage spécifique.

Picture var det första holländska heavy metal-bandet. Bandet skapades 1979, de var uppskattade i Nederländerna, Tyskland och Italien, mest för sina live-framträdanden. De har fortfarande en stor skara fans i Sydamerika, Mexiko och Japan.

Un'immagine è una metodica di rappresentazione secondo coordinate spaziali indipendenti di un oggetto o di una scena.
Contiene informazioni descrittive riferite all'oggetto, alla scena che rappresenta: un'immagine è quindi una distribuzione (che può essere bi o tri-dimensionale) di un'entità fisica.
Il linguaggio delle immagini è intrinsecamente indeterminato, evocativo, dotato di segni che assumono valore simbolico in relazione al significato che attribuiamo a ciò che osserviamo o al valore pragmatico degli scopi della comunicazione.
