PHENIX (Pioneering High Energy Nuclear Interactions eXperiment) is one of the four experiments at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider located at the Brookhaven National Laboratory. Its research goals are the discovery and the examination of the quark gluon plasma, a state of matter where the strong interaction is dominant and the quarks and gluons are not bound in hadrons, and the analysis of the spin structure of the proton.

Phénix (French for phoenix in all the meanings) is a small-scale (233 MWe) prototype fast breeder reactor in France, located in the Marcoule nuclear site. It has continued operating after the closure of the subsequent full-scale prototype Superphénix. As of 2004 its main use was investigation of transmutation of nuclear waste, although it does also continue to generate electric power.

Phénix est un réacteur nucléaire de recherche du type réacteur nucléaire à neutrons rapides et à caloporteur sodium. Il est situé sur le site nucléaire de Marcoule (Gard). Mis en service en 1973 et raccordé au réseau électrique en 1974, il est le plus ancien des réacteurs nucléaires français actuellement en fonctionnement.
