Pewter
Pewter is a malleable metal alloy, traditionally 85–99% tin, with the remainder consisting of copper, antimony, bismuth and lead. Copper and antimony act as hardeners while lead is common in the lower grades of pewter, which have a bluish tint. It has a low melting point, around 170–230 °C (338–446°F), depending on the exact mixture of metals. The word pewter is probably a variation of the word spelter, a colloquial name for zinc.

Hartzinn
Hartzinn (engl. Pewter) ist ein Sammelbegriff für Zinnlegierungen, die traditionell zwischen 85 und 96 Prozent aus Zinn und zum Rest aus Kupfer und / oder Blei bestehen und vornehmlich für Guss-, aber auch Walzprodukte (Stanniol) verwendet werden. Moderne Hartzinnlegierungen bestehen aus Zinn, Kupfer, Antimon und / oder Wismut.

Peltro
Il peltro è una lega composta principalmente di stagno (95%), con l'aggiunta di altri metalli (rame, piombo e antimonio). Anticamente conteneva argento e piombo.
Oggi il piombo è stato bandito per la tossicità e il peltro attuale contiene antimonio, rame in proporzioni variabili. È impiegata per piccoli oggetti artistici, vassoi, piatti, e simili.
Il peltro è un materiale antico che si produceva colando una lega di stagno in forme di ferro o di ottone incise, e lavorandola successivamente con la tecnica della corrosione e della martellatura per ottenerne le forme della tradizione artigiana. Il peltro oggi è una lega nobile di più metalli, viene lavorato a caldo in stampi e poi rifinito a mano con tecniche artigiane.
