Perpendicular
In geometry, two lines or planes (or a line and a plane) are considered perpendicular (or orthogonal) to each other if they form congruent adjacent angles (a T-shape). The term may be used as a noun or adjective. Thus, as illustrated, the line AB is the perpendicular to CD through the point B.

Lot (Mathematik)
In der Geometrie ist ein Lot von einem Punkt P auf eine Gerade g diejenige Gerade l, die durch den Punkt P geht und die Gerade g senkrecht (in einem 90°-Winkel) schneidet. Der Lotfußpunkt L ist der Schnittpunkt der Geraden g mit dem Lot l, also derjenige Punkt auf g, dessen Abstand zu P minimal ist. Man definiert den Abstand von P zu g als den Abstand von P zu L.

Perpendicularité
La perpendicularité (du latin , « fil à plomb ») est le caractère de deux entités géométriques qui se coupent à angle droit. La perpendicularité est une propriété importante en géométrie et en  trigonométrie, branche des mathématiques fondée sur les triangles rectangles, dotés de propriétés particulières grâce à leurs deux segments perpendiculaires.

Vinkelrät
Inom geometrin är två linjer vinkelräta mot varandra om vinkeln mellan dem är exakt 90 grader. En sådan vinkel ritas med en hake istället för med en rundad figur såsom icke vinkelräta vinklar ritas.

Prostopadlosc
Prostopadłość – cecha geometryczna dwóch prostych lub płaszczyzn (albo prostej i płaszczyzny), które tworzą przystające kąty przyległe. Zgodnie z rys. 1 prosta jest prostopadła do w punkcie .

Jeżeli prosta jest prostopadła do innej, jak pokazano na rys. 1, wszystkie kąty stworzone przez ich przecięcie nazywa się kątami prostymi (mają one miarę ½п radianów lub 90°). Odwrotnie, dowolne proste przecinające się pod kątem prostym są prostopadłe. (Oczywiście prosta jest nieograniczona, zatem dowolny linia zawarta w nie musi kończyć się w , by była uważana za prostopadłą.)
