Pen
A pen (Latin penna, feather) is a device used to apply ink to a surface, usually paper, for writing or drawing. Historically, reed pens, quill pens, and dip pens were used in ancient period, with a nib of some sort to be dipped in the ink. Ruling pens allow precise adjustment of line width, and still find a few specialized uses, but technical pens such as the Rapidograph are more commonly used. Modern types also include ballpoint, rollerball, fountain, and felt or ceramic tip pens.

Stylo
Le stylo est un outil, généralement de forme allongée facilitant sa préhension qui sert, le plus couramment, à écrire ou à dessiner. Son avantage est de posséder sa propre réserve d'encre. le vrai nom de stylo est stylographe, il a progressivement remplacé le porte-plume. Le mot est attesté en Grande-Bretagne dès 1882 mais ne fut utilisé en France qu'à partir de 1907. Il ne figure cependant pas encore dans le Larousse élémentaire illustré de 1918. On parlait plus couramment à l'époque de porte-plume réservoir.

Pen
Pen - automatyczny wstrzykiwacz insuliny z wbudowaną skalą. Jego nazwa wywodzi się od jego kształtu (pen ang. - pióro) i powszechnie przyjęła się w języku polskim.
Peny ułatwiają bezpieczne i dokładne podanie koniecznej dawki insuliny (np. specjalne peny dla osób słabo widzących z dużymi cyframi na skali) i dodatkowo zmniejszają strach związany z widokiem igły i strzykawki ( np. peny typu PenMate stosowane u dzieci mają dodatkowo ukrytą igłę w specjalnej nakładce, co czyni ją niewidoczną). Do penów używane są specjalne wkłady, które z uwagi na miniaturowe kształty pena, zawierają insulinę w stężeniu 100 jednostek w mililitrze. Wkład ma zwykle 3 ml pojemności.
