Pantheism is the view that everything is of an all-encompassing immanent abstract God; or that the Universe, or nature, and God are equivalent. More detailed definitions tend to emphasize the idea that natural law, existence, and the Universe (the sum total of all that is, was, and shall be) is represented in the theological principle of an abstract 'god' rather than a personal, creative deity or deities of any kind. This is the key feature which distinguishes them from panentheists and pandeists. As such, although many religions may claim to hold pantheistic elements, they are more commonly panentheistic or pandeistic in nature.

Le panthéisme est une doctrine philosophique selon laquelle tout est Dieu. Ce mot vient du grec ancien pan (πὰν) : « tout » et theos (θέος) (« dieu »). Dans la philosophie occidentale, et notamment depuis Spinoza, le sens qui est donné à ce mot "tout" est en général identique à celui associé à la Nature, au sens le plus général de ce terme, autrement dit de "tout ce qui existe".

Pantheismus (griechisch pan = „alles, ganz“; theós = „Gott“) bedeutet, die Gottheit bzw. „das Göttliche“ in allen Erscheinungen der Welt zu sehen (Allgottglaube). Somit vertritt der Pantheismus die Ansicht, dass das Universum gleichbedeutend mit Gott ist.Anhänger des Pantheismus glauben an keinen persönlichen oder personifizierten Gott; sie sehen die ganze Welt vom Makro- bis zum Mikrokosmos als „göttlich“ an. Ein Vertreter des Pantheismus war Baruch Spinoza, der seine Sicht auf die Formel Substanz = Gott = Natur (Deus sive natura, „Gott oder die Natur“) reduzierte. Auch viele Erscheinungsformen des Atheismus sind eigentlich pantheistisch, da das gottlose Weltbild mit religiösen Gehalten versehen wird.

Il panteismo (dal greco pan = "tutto", "completo"; theòs = dio/divino) letteralmente significa "tutto è dio/divino". Normalmente questo si collega alla convinzione che Dio sia coincidente con tutto l'esistente, l'intero universo o la natura. Il prof. Michael Levine, nel suo libro Panteismo, lo definisce «una concezione non-teistica della divinità». In senso lato, con "panteismo" si intende ogni dottrina filosofica che identifichi Dio con il mondo o con il principio che lo regge.
