PAIR
PAIR (Peer-Allocated Instant Response) is a project in the Netherlands that aims to match students with best-suited peer candidates for online support. It was launched in 2006 by the Open University of the Netherlands, an online university, and was supported by Fontys University and SURF, the national organization in the Netherlands that coordinates ICT in higher education.

The word pair, derived via the French words pair/paire from the Latin par 'equal', can refer to:
- 2 (number), two of something

L'adjectif pair a plusieurs significations.- En mathématiques,
- un nombre entier est dit pair s'il est divisible par deux ;
- une fonction est paire si sa courbe est symétrique par rapport à l'axe des ordonnées.
- En anatomie, un organe pair est un organe qui présente une symétrie bilatérale, c'est-à-dire qu'il est divisé en deux moitiés à peu près identiques réparties de chaque côté du plan médian. C'est le cas du cerveau, par exemple, qui est constitué de deux hémisphères, un droit et un gauche.
