The ounce (abbreviated: oz, the old Italian word onza, now spelled oncia; apothecary symbol: ℥) is a unit of mass with several definitions, the most commonly used of which are equal to approximately 28 grams. The ounce is used in a number of different systems, including various systems of mass that form part of the imperial and United States customary systems. Its size can vary from system to system. The most commonly used ounces today are the international avoirdupois ounce and the international troy ounce.

Eine Unze (von lat. Uncia „ein Zwölftel“) ist eine nicht-metrische Maßeinheit der Masse, in der üblicherweise das Handelsgewicht von Edelmetallen angegeben wird. Das Einheitenzeichen ist oz. (von ital. onza), die englische Bezeichnung ounce.

UNS ("utan närmare specifikation", på engelska NOS, "Not Otherwise Specified") är ett uttryck som ofta används inom medicinsk diagnostik. Detta används då alltför få diagnoskriterier är uppfyllda för att en mer exakt diagnos skall kunna ställas, och man skriver då t.ex. "Schizofreni UNS".

Uncja to pozaukładowa jednostka masy, bądź objętości płynów stosowana w  starożytnym Rzymie i  krajach anglosaskich.

  • 1 uncja masy (oz) = 1/16 funta = 28,35 g
  • 1 uncja (uncia) rzymska = 27,288 g
  • 1 uncja objętości (fl oz) = 1/160 imperialnego galona = 28,41 cm3
  • 1 amerykańska uncja objętości = 1/128 amerykańskiego galona = 29,57 cm3

W jubilerstwie i w handlu metalami szlachetnymi stosuje się uncję trojańską (jubilerską). Nazwa trojańska pochodzi od miasta Troyes w północnowschodniej Francji, w średniowieczu ważnego ośrodka handlowego.
