ontogeny

Ontogeny (also ontogenesis or morphogenesis) describes the origin and the development of an organism from the fertilized egg to its mature form. Ontogeny is studied in developmental biology.More generally, Ontogeny is defined as the history of structural change in a unity, which can be a cell, an organism, or a society of organisms, without the loss of the organization that allows that unity to exist (Maturana and Varela, 1987, p. 74).

L'ontogenèse (ou ontogénie) décrit le développement progressif d'un organisme depuis sa conception jusqu'à sa forme mature, voir jusqu'à sa mort. En biologie du développement, ce terme s'applique aussi bien aux êtres vivants non-humains qu'aux êtres humains mais on le retrouve aussi dans le domaine de la psychologie du développement où l'ontogenèse désigne le développement psychologique d'un individu depuis l'enfance jusqu'à l'âge adulte et plus généralement, pour désigner les transformations structurelles observés dans un système vivant qui lui donne son organisation ou sa forme finale.

Unter der Ontogenese (von griechisch ; Kompositum aus , „Wesen“ und , „Geburt“, „Entstehung“) versteht man allgemein die Geschichte des strukturellen Wandels einer Einheit ohne Verlust ihrer Organisation.Im engeren Sinne bezeichnet der Begriff Ontogenesein der Entwicklungspsychologie und Psychoanalyse die (psychische) Entwicklung eines Individuums (präziser: Psychogenese),in der Biologie (nach Ernst Haeckel 1866) die Individualentwicklung, also die Entwicklung des einzelnen Lebewesens von der befruchteten Eizelle zum erwachsenen Lebewesen. Dabei entwickeln sich beim Embryo nach und nach Organanlagen, aus denen Organe entstehen, in denen wiederum die Zellen (zu Geweben zusammengefasst) sich weiter spezialisieren.

De ontwikkelingsfysiologie (ontogenese) betreft de groei- en differentiëring van cellen en weefsels en de totipotentie van organismen vanaf bevruchte eicel tot volwassen organisme en is een onderdeel van de ontwikkelingsbiologie. De ontwikkeling is erfelijk bepaald en wordt gestuurd door de genen en hormonen van het betreffende organisme.
