Off the Wall
Off the Wall is African American pop and R&B singer Michael Jackson's fifth solo album. The album is often hailed as his breakthrough effort and was a major success for the Jacksons frontman, despite critics who said Jackson's career was doomed after leaving Motown Records in 1975. In December 1995, the RIAA certified Off the Wall at 7x Platinum for sales of 7 million in the United States alone, and the album has thus far sold 20 million copies worldwide. For a while, it was the biggest recording by a black artist in history.
