Nekros (gr. ne'krosis, "bortdöende"), sjuklig cell- och vävnadsdöd i en organism, till skillnad från apoptos som innebär en programmerad celldöd som gynnar organismen. Blir nekrosen tillräckligt stor kan det leda till organismens död.
