Nave
In Romanesque and Gothic Christian abbey, cathedral basilica and church architecture, the nave is the central approach to the high altar, the main body of the church. "Nave" (Medieval Latin navis, "ship") was probably suggested by the keel shape of its vaulting. The nave of a church, whether Romanesque, Gothic or Classical, extends from the entry — which may have a separate vestibule, the narthex — to the chancel and is flanked by lower aisles separated from the nave by an arcade. If the aisles are high and of a width comparable to the central nave, the structure is sometimes said to have three naves.

Kirchenschiff
Sillage
Sillage (französisch für „Kielwasser“) ist eine französische Comic-Serie von Zeichner Philippe Buchet und Jean-David Morvan (Szenario), die erstmals 1998 erschien. Sie handelt von dem jungen Menschenmädchen Nävis, die nach dem Absturz ihres Raumschiffs auf einem wilden Dschungelplaneten aufwächst und schließlich von Sillage, einem gewaltigen, Tausende von Schiffen umfassenden Weltraumkonvoi, aufgelesen wird.

Nave
Nef
La nef est la partie d'une église allant du portail à la croisée du transept et qui est comprise entre les deux murs latéraux. La nef comprend le vaisseau central et les éventuels collatéraux (il ne faut pas confondre nef et vaisseau). C'est le lieu principal où se tiennent les fidèles lors des célébrations et des offices. Le mot nef signifie au sens premier « navire ». C'est la raison pour laquelle il a été utilisé pour désigner cette partie de l'église. Le symbole du bateau pour désigner l'Église renvoie à l'enseignement de Jésus qui s'est souvent fait à partir d'une barque sur la mer de Galilée, où se trouvaient les tout premiers apôtres — symbole de l'Église naissante — qui y pêchaient.

Nawa
Nawy są zazwyczaj oddzielone rzędem podpór - filarów lub kolumn. Średniowieczne kościoły bazylikowe były trój- lub pięcionawowe, o nawie głównej dwa razy szerszej i dwa razy wyższej od bocznych (trójnawowe - katedra w Chartres, katedra w Reims, pięcionawowe - kościół St. Sernin w Tuluzie, katedra w Paryżu). Późnogotyckie kościoły dwunawowe mogły mieć symetryczne nawy równej szerokości (kościół NMP w Wiślicy) i prezbiterium umieszczone na osi filarów międzynawowych lub niesymetryczne nawy różnej szerokości (układ spotykany w budownictwie zakonów żebraczych - dominikanów i franciszkanów). W okresie nowożytnym, szczególnie w baroku można obserwować zacieranie się podziałów na nawy - często trudno orzec, czy mamy do czynienia z nawami bocznymi, czy tylko z ciągiem kaplic przyległych do nawy głównej. W kościołach jednonawowych komplikacji i zróżnicowaniu uległ kształt naw - stosowano koło, elipsę, trój- i pięcioliść a także różnego rodzaju owale z aneksami.
