Naphtha
Naphtha ( or ) normally refers to a number of flammable liquid mixtures of hydrocarbons, i.e., a component of natural gas condensate or a distillation product from petroleum, coal tar or peat boiling in a certain range and containing certain hydrocarbons. It is a broad term covering among the lightest and most volatile fractions of the liquid hydrocarbons in petroleum. Naphtha is a colorless to reddish-brown volatile aromatic liquid, very similar to gasoline.

Naphtha
Ein Naphtha ist eine Flüssigkeit, die durch Destillation aus Erdöl gewonnen wird und aus Kohlenwasserstoffen besteht. Beispielsweise ist ein Benzin ein Naphtha, das aus Paraffinen, Cycloparaffinen und weiteren Kohlenwasserstoffen besteht.

Dans l'antiquité romaine, Pline l'ancien écrivait sur la nature du naphte « on appelle ainsi une substance qui coule comme du bitume liquide, dans les environs de Babylone et dans l'Astacène, province de la Parthie. Le feu a une grande affinité pour elle, et il s'y jette dès qu'il est à portée. C'est ainsi qu'on rapporte que Médée brûla sa rivale: celle-ci, au moment où elle s'approchait de l'autel pour y faire un sacrifice, eut sa couronne aussitôt envahie par le feu. »

Nafta
Noord-Amerikaanse Vrijhandelsovereenkomst
De Noord-Amerikaanse Vrijhandelsovereenkomst (Engels: North American Free Trade Agreement, NAFTA, Spaans: Tratado de Libre Comercio de América del Norte, TLCAN, Frans: Accord de libre-échange nord-américain, ALENA) is een vrijhandelszone die Canada, de Verenigde Staten en Mexico omvat.
De NAFTA was een uitbreiding op de Amerikaans-Canadese Vrijhandelsovereenkomst van 1989. De NAFTA trad in werking op 1 januari 1994. Het werd ingesteld door conservatieve regeringen met een neoliberaal economisch beleid. Brian Mulroney (Canada), George H.W. Bush (Verenigde Staten) en Carlos Salinas (Mexico) waren de ondertekenaars.
