NASA
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is the agency of the United States government that is responsible for the nation's civilian space program and for aeronautics and aerospace research. Since February 2006, NASA's mission statement has been to "pioneer the future in space exploration, scientific discovery and aeronautics research." On September 14, 2011, NASA announced that it had selected the design of a new Space Launch System that it said would take the agency's astronauts farther into space than ever before and provide the cornerstone for future human space exploration efforts by the U.S.

National Aeronautics and Space Administration
Die National Aeronautics and Space Administration – zu deutsch: Nationale Luft- und Raumfahrtbehörde – (NASA [englisch , deutsch meist ], gegründet 29. Juli 1958) ist die zivile US-Bundesbehörde für Luft- und Raumfahrt. Jedoch ist die Trennung zum militärischen im Bereich der Luftfahrtforschung nicht vollständig, weil die NASA sowohl für die zivile wie auch die militärische Grundlagenforschung in der Luftfahrt zuständig ist. Sie unterscheidet sich hierin von der Europäischen Weltraumorganisation (ESA), die nach Artikel II ihres Statuts ausschließlich der zivilen Weltraumforschung dient und auch keine Luftfahrtforschung betreibt.

NASA
National Aeronautics and Space Administration, NASA (ang. Narodowa Agencja Aeronautyki i Przestrzeni Kosmicznej) - agencja rządu Stanów Zjednoczonych, odpowiedzialna za narodowy program lotów kosmicznych, ustanowiona 29 lipca 1958 r. na mocy National Aeronautics and Space Act.
Oprócz programu lotów kosmicznych, agencja jest również odpowiedzialna za długofalowy (zarówno cywilny, jak i wojskowy) program badań przestrzeni kosmicznej. W lutym 2006 r., NASA sama określiła swoje cele, uznając że jej misją jest "utorowanie drogi dla przyszłej eksploracji kosmosu, odkryciom naukowym oraz badaniom z dziedziny aeronautyki".
