muscle contraction

A muscle contraction (also known as a muscle twitch or simply twitch) occurs when a muscle fiber generates tension through the action of actin and myosin cross-bridge cycling. While under tension, the muscle may lengthen, shorten or remain the same. Though the term 'contraction' implies a shortening or reduction, when used as a scientific term referring to the muscular system contraction refers to the generation of tension by muscle fibers.  Locomotion in most higher animals is possible only through the repeated contraction of many muscles at the correct times. Contraction is controlled by the central nervous system, which comprises the brain and spinal cord. Voluntary muscle contractions are initiated in the brain, while the spinal cord initiates involuntary reflexes.

Unter einer Muskelkontraktion versteht man die aktive Verkürzung eines Muskels. Ein Muskel ist ein Teil des Gewebes eines Menschen (Tieres), das als ganzes beweglich meist einem Knochen oder anderen Muskeln aufliegt (Verschiebbarkeit durch Schichten von lockerem Bindegewebe, Faszien und Logen) und durch seine Verbindungen mit Sehnen in der Lage ist, Gliedmaßen, innere Körperbezirke (Bauchpresse beim Husten, Miktion, Defäkation, Geburtsvorgang usw.; Atmungsbewegung) zu bewegen und damit letztlich dem Individuum ermöglicht, Kräfte auf seine Umwelt auszuüben (z. B. einen Nagel in die Wand schlagen) und sich selbst fortzubewegen (ortsverändernde Bewegung).

Skurcz mięśnia jest to proces skracania się włókien mięśniowych. Poruszanie się organizmu możliwe jest dzięki synchronizowanemu skurczowi różnych grup mięśniowych. W przypadku mięśni szkieletowych skurcz jest efektem potencjałów powstałych w mózgu w korze ruchowej. Skurcz mięśni gładkich oraz mięśnia sercowego odbywa się bez udziału woli, jednak niższe elementy ośrodkowego układu nerwowego wywierają znaczny wpływ na powstawanie i modyfikację siły skurczu.Skurcz mięśnia jest to zmiana długości lub napięcia mięśnia, wywierająca siłę mechaniczną na miejsca przyczepu mięśnia lub wokół narządu otoczonego przez mięsień okrężny (np. jamy ustnej)

Muskelkontraktion är den process varvid muskelvävnad kontraheras. Histologiskt består muskelvävnad av muskelfibrer som är mångkärniga, avlånga celler. Cellerna innehåller i sin tur muskelfibriller som är uppbyggda av s.k. sarkomerer. En sarkomer består av aktinfilament, (tunna filament) myosinfilament (tjocka filament) mfl proteiner.
