MoSS
Moss
Mosses are small, soft plants that are typically 1–10 cm (0.4–4 in) tall, though some species are much larger. They commonly grow close together in clumps or mats in damp or shady locations. They do not have flowers or seeds, and their simple leaves cover the thin wiry stems. At certain times mosses produce spore capsules which may appear as beak-like capsules borne aloft on thin stalks.

Bryophyta
L'embranchement des bryophyta ne concerne que les mousses au sens strict, tandis que le terme bryophyte pris au sens large s'applique aux trois embranchements de plantes terrestres qui ne possèdent pas de vrai système vasculaire (Hepaticophyta, Anthocerotophyta et Bryophyta).

Mchy
Mchy (Bryopsida, Musci) - klasa roślin lądowych należących do typu (gromady) mszaków. Obejmuje ok. 14 tysięcy gatunków, w Polsce ok. 650. Większość mchów (95%) należy do prątników (Bryidae). W rozwoju mchów wyróżnia się dwa następujące po sobie pokolenia: płciowe (gametofit) wytwarzające gametangia (plemnie i rodnie) oraz bezpłciowe (sporofit) wytwarzające zarodniki.
