Mockumentary
A mockumentary (a portmanteau of the words mock and documentary), is a type of film or television show in which fictitious events are presented in documentary format. These productions are often used to analyze or comment on current events and issues by using a fictitious setting, or to parody the documentary form itself. They may be either comedic or dramatic in form, although comedic mockumentaries are more common. A dramatic mockumentary (sometimes referred to as docufiction) should not be confused with docudrama, a fictional genre in which dramatic techniques are combined with documentary elements to depict real events.

Mockumentary
Der Filmgenre-Begriff Mockumentary ist ein Kofferwort (engl. to mock – vorgetäuscht, Pseudo-, sich lustig machen, engl. documentary – Dokumentarfilm) und die Bezeichnung für einen fiktionalen Dokumentarfilm, der einen echten Dokumentarfilm oder das ganze Genre parodiert.

Faux documentaire
Un faux documentaire (ou encore le mot-valise documenteur) est un canular qui tout en ayant l'apparence d'un vrai documentaire présente une histoire fictive ou défend une thèse farfelue. En anglais, on a recours au néologisme pour illustrer ce genre cinématographique marginal.

Fiktiv dokumentärfilm
En fiktiv dokumentärfilm, även fiktiv dokumentär eller mockumentär (efter engelskans mockumentary), är en spelfilm som är uppbyggd som, och skapar illusionen av att vara, en dokumentär. Många fiktiva dokumentärer är humoristiska.

Mockumentary
Il mockumentary, dalla fusione delle parole inglesi mock (deridere) e documentary (documentario), è un falso documentario. Con questo termine si indica il genere cinematografico o televisivo, oppure una singola opera di questo genere.
Un mockumentary si presenta come un documentario, ovvero per taglio e stile come se riprendesse aspetti della realtà, ma è in realtà un prodotto di fiction. È un genere ampiamente sfruttato dagli autori di parodie e satira.
Esempi di mockumentary sono:
