Melodic death metal
Melodic death metal, (also referred to as Gothenburg metal, melodeath, and post-death) is a
subgenre of
death metal. Originally the genre combined the harmony style and groove melodies of
heavy metal with the thrashing, harsh sound of death metal and
thrash metal. Later the genre evolved due to many different influences, a notable evolution in the genre being the addition of
keyboards.

Death Metal. Die Bezeichnung New Wave Of Swedish Death Metal (in Anspielung auf die
New Wave of British Heavy Metal) taucht auch des Öfteren auf und ist ein Synonym für dieses Genre. Ebenso ist die Bezeichnung
Göteborger Metal oder Göteborger Schule nicht unüblich, da die Stilrichtung ursprünglich aus dem Göteborger
Underground entstanden ist. Verbreitet ist auch die Bezeichnung Slow Death Metal, die meist negativ verstanden wird.

death metalu. Odznacza się większą ilością melodyjnych riffów i gitarowych solówek, czasami na gitarach akustycznych, z rzadka pojawia się również "czysty wokal" (tradycyjny
śpiew) zamiast
growlingu. Generalnie struktury utworów są bardziej progresywne, w trakcie jednego utworu przewijają się różnorodne motywy.
