Mechanics
Mechanics (Greek ) is the branch of science concerned with the behavior of physical bodies when subjected to forces or displacements, and the subsequent effects of the bodies on their environment. The discipline has its roots in several ancient civilizations (see History of classical mechanics and Timeline of classical mechanics). During the early modern period, scientists such as GalileoKepler, and especially Newton, laid the foundation for what is now known as classical mechanics. It is a branch of classical physics that deals with the particles that are moving either with less velocity or that are at rest. It can also be defined as a branch of science which deals with the motion and force of the particular object. The system of study of mechanics is shown in the table below:


Classical versus quantum
The major division of the mechanics discipline separates classical mechanics from quantum mechanics.

Mechanik
Die Mechanik ist das älteste und grundlegendste Teilgebiet der Physik. Sie befasst sich in der Kinematik aufbauend auf den Begriffen von ZeitLängeGeschwindigkeit und Beschleunigung mit der Bewegung von Körpern in Raum und Zeit und stellt in der Dynamik den Zusammenhang dieser Bewegungen mit der Masse und den wirkenden Kräften her. Die Dynamik wiederum kann unterteilt werden in die Statik und die Kinetik.

Meccanica
  • In termini generali, la meccanica (dal latino mechanicus, dal greco mechanike, femminile di mechanikos "meccanico") è una specializzazione delle scienze che trattano le funzioni e le operazioni di routine con le macchine, intesa come dispositivo od oggetto. Se seguita da un aggettivo, la meccanica si occupa dello studio delle funzioni ricavate empiricamente da attrezzature meccaniche dove la variabile da studiare è una proprietà o uno stato.
  • In fisica, Meccanica indica una qualsiasi teoria che si occupi del movimento dei corpi.
  • In ingegneria, Meccanica applicata è l'utilizzo dei risultati e dei metodi della fisica matematica (in particolare della meccanica razionale) ai sistemi meccanici di interesse pratico ed industriale.
  • Nell'industria, la Metalmeccanica è un settore industriale legato alla lavorazione dei metalli ed alla produzione di oggetti in metallo.
