Measure (mathematics)
In mathematical analysis, a measure on a set is a systematic way to assign a number to each suitable subset of that set, intuitively interpreted as its size. In this sense, a measure is a generalization of the concepts of length, area, and volume. A particularly important example is the Lebesgue measure on a Euclidean space, which assigns the conventional length, area, and volume of Euclidean geometry to suitable subsets of the n-dimensional Euclidean space Rn. For instance, the Lebesgue measure of the interval [0, 1] in the real numbers is its length in the everyday sense of the word, specifically 1.

Mesure (mathématiques)
En mathématiques, une mesure est une fonction qui associe une « longueur », un « volume » ou encore une « probabilité » à certaines parties d'un ensemble donné. Il s'agit d'un important concept en analyse et en théorie des probabilités. Formellement, une mesure µ est une fonction qui associe à chaque élément S d'une s-algèbre donnée X une valeur µ(S), qui est un réel positif ou l'infini. Les propriétés suivantes doivent être vérifiées :

Mått (matematik)
Mått inom måtteorin är ett matematiskt begrepp som används för att ange ”storleken” på en mängd. Längd, area och volym är några exempel på vanliga mått. Begreppet är centralt för att på ett korrekt sätt kunna definiera integralen av en funktion på ett generellt sätt. Måtteori är ett mycket viktigt område inom matematisk analys och sannolikhetsteori.

Miara (matematyka)
Miara – rozważana w matematyce funkcja służąca określeniu „wielkości” zbiorów poprzez przypisanie im pewnej nieujemnej liczby.
Pojęcie to wyrosło z potrzeby bardziej usystematyzowanego spojrzenia na zagadnienia długości, pola powierzchni czy objętości w pracach Lebesgue'a nad jego miarą. Nie wszystkie zastosowania miar muszą mieć związek z wielkościami fizycznymi. Nieformalnie, dla danego zbioru, „miara” jest dowolnym spójnym przypisaniem „wielkości” (pewnym) podzbiorom tego zbioru.
