Mayúscula
La letra mayúscula es la que, a diferencia de la minúscula, tiene mayor tamaño y por lo general distinta forma. Como adjetivo, indica algo mayor que lo ordinario en su especie. Coloquialmente se utiliza como sinónimo de grandísimo, enorme: mayúsculo dilema.
En el alfabeto romano, las mayúsculas son A, B, C... Sin embargo, en el latín original sólo había un conjunto de letras, que posteriormente se convertiría en las mayúsculas cuando se desarrollaron las minúsculas. Por lo general, se emplean como inicial de nombres propios, después de punto, etc.

(n.) = capital ; upper case [upper-case/uppercase] ; block letter ; block capital.
Nota: Generalmente usado en plural.
Ex: There are only two sets of symbols whose orders are reasonably universally recognised: the letters of the Roman alphabet (either small or capitals), and Arabic numerals.
Ex: Use these standard typewriter keys in any combination of upper and lower case to type text.
Ex: Please fill out this form in block letters and send it back to us as soon as possible in order to benefit from pre-registration fees.
Ex: As computer technology improves, the appearance of the printed page, so often marred at present by the use of undifferentiated block capitals, will undoubtedly improve.
