, which stands for "Märchen Awakens Romance", is a manga series created by mangaka Nobuyuki Anzai. The television anime based on the series is titled and was originally broadcast in Japan on the TXN station. MÄR is characterised by fairy tale motifs running throughout the series, Märchen being itself the German word for "fairy tale".  VIZ Media has acquired the North American rights to both the MÄR manga and anime and aired a dubbed version of the series, first on Toonami Jetstream, an online service from Cartoon Network, and then on the network itself, as part of the Toonami programming block. In June, Canadian youth network YTV broadcasted MÄR @ 7.00p.m., as part of the Bionix Friday anime programming block.

The Gospel of Mark, anonymous but traditionally ascribed to Mark the Evangelist, is a synoptic gospel of the New Testament. It narrates the life of Jesus from John the Baptist to the Ascension (or to the empty tomb in the shorter recension), but it concentrates particularly on the last week of his life (chapters 11-16, the trip to Jerusalem). Its swift narrative portrays Jesus as a heroic man of action, an exorcist, a healer and miracle worker. It calls him the Christ (equivalent to Messiah), the Son of Man, and a few times as the Son of God.

MÄR (メル, meru), ou Märchen Awakens Romance (メルヘヴン, meru hevun, MÄR Heaven) est un manga de Nobuyuki Anzai. La prépublication est fini au japon lors du Shônen Sunday #31(2006) et comporte 15 volumes. La suite MÄR Omega (MÄR ) à débuté dans le Shônen Sunday #38. La publication en France à commencé le avec la sortie simultanée des 2 premiers tomes pour MÄR et le pour MÄR Omega, le tout chez Kana.

Eine Mär ist im ursprünglichen Sinne ein Bericht oder eine Erzählung; inzwischen wird die Bezeichnung vor allem wertend für Moderne Sagen und andere Geschichten oder Vorstellungen verwendet, die sich als falsch herausgestellt haben. Letztere Verwendung tritt nach dem Deutschen Wörterbuch bereits im 15. bis 17. Jahrhundert auf, die Verkleinerungsform Märchen oder „Märlein“ wurde ebenfalls als Abgrenzung für eine unwahre Geschichte verwendet. Bereits seit Ende des 17. Jahrhunderts gilt die Bezeichnung Mär als veraltet, wird sie noch immer zur Kennzeichnung offensichtlich überholter oder unwahrer Geschichten eingesetzt.

Das Evangelium nach Markus (Markus-Evangelium, abgekürzt MkEv oder Mk) ist das zweite Buch des Neuen Testaments, des zweiten Teils der zweigeteilten, einen christlichen Bibel. Obwohl es in der kanonischen Abfolge der Texte auf das Matthäusevangelium folgt, ist es das älteste und zugleich kürzeste der vier kanonischen Evangelien. Das Markusevangelium wird zusammen mit dem Matthäus-Evangelium und dem Lukas-Evangelium zu den synoptischen Evangelien gezählt, da es zusammen mit der Logienquelle Q Matthäus (Mt) und Lukas (Lk) als Quelle gedient hat (Zwei-Quellen-Theorie) und sich die Evangelien nach Markus, Matthäus und Lukas somit synoptisch, d.h. zusammenschauend und vergleichend lesen lassen.

Jest jedną z ewangelii synoptycznych. Jako miejsce jej powstania podaje się Rzym. Istnieją przypuszczenia, że Ewangelia Marka może być późniejszą, okrojoną wersją Tajemnej Ewangelii Marka.
