MAGMA
MAGMA Gießereitechnologie GmbH develops and markets software for casting process simulation. The software is used world-wide by foundries, casting buyers and designers. In addition to the simulation software MAGMASOFT®, respectively MAGMA5, the product and service portfolio includes engineering services for casting design and optimization. With reference to an article in the German newspaper „Süddeutsche Zeitung“ MAGMA is amongst the global market leaders for simulation software for casting processes.

Magma
Magma (from Greek μάγμα "paste") is a mixture of molten or semi molten rock, volatiles and solids that is found beneath the surface of the Earth, and is expected to exist on other terrestrial planets. Besides molten rock, magma may also contain suspended crystals and dissolved gas and sometimes also gas bubbles. Magma often collects in magma chambers that may feed a volcano or turn into a pluton. Magma is capable of intrusion into adjacent rocks, extrusion onto the surface as lava, and explosive ejection as tephra to form pyroclastic rock.

Magma
Magma (gr. mágma „geknetete Masse“) heißt die Masse aus Gesteinsschmelze, die in Teilen des oberen Erdmantels und der tieferen Erdkruste vorkommt. Die Fließfähigkeit des Magmas ist die Ursache des Vulkanismus (siehe auch Vulkan) und hat eine große Bedeutung für die Gesteinsbildung, da sich aus dem erstarrenden Magma die magmatischen Gesteine oder Magmatite bilden. Diese unterteilt man in Plutonite, wenn das Magma in der Erdkruste langsam abkühlt und daher größere Kristalle bilden kann, und in Vulkanite, wenn das Magma beim Austritt an die Erdoberfläche (zum Beispiel als Lava oder in Form von Pyroklasten) schneller abkühlt. Zu den Plutoniten zählt zum Beispiel der Granit, zu den Vulkaniten der Basalt.

Magma (géologie)
Le magma est de la roche en fusion contenant des gaz dissous. Il se forme à haute température et sous haute pression par fusion partielle de la croûte terrestre ou du manteau. Le magma, moins dense que la roche solide de la lithosphère, est entraîné vers le haut par la poussée d'Archimède.

Magma
Magma ( „gęsta maść”) – gorąca, stopiona masa krzemianów i glinokrzemianów z domieszkami tlenków i siarczków, z dużą ilością wody i gazów, znajdująca się w głębi skorupy ziemskiej.
Magma może przeciskać się przez warstwy skalne tworząc intruzje plutoniczne oraz wydobywać się na powierzchnię Ziemi jako lawa. Z krzepnącej magmy/lawy powstają skały magmowe – plutoniczne i wulkaniczne. Skały zastygłe blisko powierzchni ziemi nazywane są subwulkanicznymi.
