Luxury
Luxury may refer to:
- Luxury good, an economic good or service for which demand increases more than proportionally as income rises
- Luxury tax, tax on products not considered essential, such as expensive cars
- Luxury tax (sports), surcharge put on the aggregate payroll of a sports team to the extent to which it exceeds a predetermined guideline level set by the league
- Luxury vehicle, expensive automobiles
- Luxury trains, expensive tourist trains
- Luxury yacht, expensive privately owned, professionally crewed yacht
- Luxury real estate, niche real estate market dealing with the highest economic group of property buyers
- Luxury resort, exclusive vacation facilities
- Luxury box, term for a special seating section in arenas, stadiums and other sports venues
- Luxury magazine, magazines devoted to fine craft and luxury goods

Luxus
Luxus (v. lat.: luxus = Verschwendung, Liederlichkeit, eigentlich „üppige Fruchtbarkeit“) bezeichnet Verhaltensweisen, Aufwendungen oder Ausstattungen, welche über das übliche Maß (den üblichen Standard) hinausgehen bzw. über das in einer Gesellschaft als notwendig und - zum Teil auch - für sinnvoll erachtete Maß. Luxus fasst damit Phänomene zusammen, die für einen großen Teil der Bezugsgruppe zwar erstrebenswert sind, aber nicht erreichbar. Deshalb ist ihr Tauschwert oft erheblich, das heißt der Preis für ihren Erwerb hoch und deshalb sind Luxusgüter meist nur auf der Grundlage einer entsprechenden Ausstattung mit Macht oder Reichtum zu erwerben.

Luxe
Le luxe (lat. luxus) désigne le mode de vie consistant à pratiquer des dépenses somptuaires et superflues, dans le but de s'entourer d'un raffinement fastueux ou par pur goût de l'ostentation, par opposition aux facteurs ne relevant que de la stricte nécessité. Par extension, le luxe désigne également tous les éléments et pratiques permettant de parvenir à ce niveau de vie. Cet aspect d'inutilité est si marquant qu'il est à la base de l'expression péjorative « C'est du luxe ! » qui condamne un investissement déraisonnable.

Luksus
Luksus – ogólna definicja obejmująca obiekty materialne, usługi, artykuły spożywcze etc. dostępne dla wąskich grup społecznych, o przychodzie wyższym niż ogół społeczeństwa.
Mianem luksusu można określić choćby kolację w drogiej restauracji ze znakomitym widokiem, przy dobrym winie, będącą niekoniecznie niezbędną do przeżycia, lecz wprowadzającą do egzystencji ogólne zadowolenie z możliwości podniesienia jej jakości przez wprowadzenie doń swoistej elegancji.
