Un lick, en musique (et notamment à la guitare) est la variation d'un riff qui permet de souligner un mot remplacé (par exemple dans un refrain). Il peut aussi servir à l'improvisation et est souvent la marque d'une grande maîtrise de l'instrument.

Unter einem Lick (englisch: to lick - (hier) schlagen, wahrscheinlich im Sinne von einschlägiger Punkt bzw. schlagartiger Wechsel in einem Lied oder geschlagene Saite) versteht man auf der Gitarre oder dem Bass gespielte „Wörter“ oder „Sätze“, die oft in einer Improvisation, zum Beispiel bei einem Konzert oder einer Jamsession, eingebracht werden.
