A legend (Latin, legenda, "things to be read") is a narrative of human actions that are perceived both by teller and listeners to take place within human history and to possess certain qualities that give the tale verisimilitude. Legend, for its active and passive participants, includes no happenings that are outside the realm of "possibility", defined by a highly flexible set of parameters, which may include miracles that are perceived as actually having happened, within the specific tradition of indoctrination where the legend arises, and within which it may be transformed over time, in order to keep it fresh and vital, and realistic.

"LEGEND" is the fourth single from Mika Nakashima's third album, Music. It was released a month after her mini album Oborodzukiyo ~Inori. It was a minor success, peaking at #5 in the Oricon charts and charting for 11 weeks. Overall, it sold 67,527 units in Japan, of which more than half in its first week. Legend was used as the Sony MD Walkman CM song. The B-sides were "FAKE"; used as the Kanebo Kate CM song, and "Carrot & Whip"; the Meiji CM song.

Une légende (de l'adjectif verbal latin legenda, « qui doit être lu ») est, à l’origine, un récit mis par écrit pour être lu publiquement : dans les monastères, pendant les repas ; dans les églises, pour l’édification des fidèles lors de la fête d’un saint. Dans ce genre de littérature, la précision historique passe au second plan par rapport à l’intention spirituelle (dans l'hagiographie) ou morale.

Legend war eine Soulband aus Southend-on Sea/England. Ihr Gründer Mickey Jupp hat mit unterschiedlichen Musikern von 1969 bis 1972 drei Alben veröffentlicht. Alle Alben blieben trotz gutem Songmaterial und solider Produktion erfolglos. Erst nachdem Mickey Jupp als Songschreiber und Solokünstler wahrgenommen wurde, erfuhren die Legend-Alben eine nachträgliche Anerkennung. Alle Legend-Alben sind heute gesuchte Raritäten.

Legende (v. lat.: legendum = "zu Lesendes") bezeichnet ursprünglich eine Geschichte zum Lesen oder auch Vorlesen. Die Abgrenzung zu Sagen oder (griech.) Mythen – vom Wort her mündlich tradierten Geschichten aller Art – ist fließend. Christliche Legenden bestehen oft aus Lebensbeschreibungen von Heiligen. Hier unterscheidet man zwischen Märtyrerlegenden, die nach dem Tod eines Märtyrers zu wuchern begannen, und Heiligenviten, die bereits zu Lebzeiten erzählt und nicht selten auch mehr oder weniger dokumentiert wurden. Derartige Überlieferungen können deswegen unter Berücksichtigung ihrer besonderen Spezifika der Geschichtswissenschaft als historische Quellen dienen.

Legénd (słowac. Legínd) - wieś i gmina w północnej części Węgier, w pobliżu miasta Rétság. Miejscowość leży na obszarze Średniogórza Północnowęgierskiego, w poblizu granicy ze Słowacją. Administracyjnie należy do powiatu Rétság, wchodzącego w skład komitatu Nógrád. Gmina Legénd liczy 552 mieszkańców (2001 r.) i zajmuje obszar 18,41 km².

Informuje o powstaniu jakiegoś miasta lub państwa, zawiera zdarzenia historyczne, najczęściej występuje w niej jakiś bohater lub rycerz. Często osnuta na wątkach ludowych i apokryficznych; rozpowszechniona w średniowieczu. Pierwotnie przekazywana ustnie, następnie zapisywana.
