Laúd
The word laúd is the Spanish word for lute. It is most commonly used to refer to a plectrum-plucked chordophone from Spain. It belongs to the cittern family of instruments. It has six double courses (i.e. twelve strings in pairs), similarly to the bandurria, but its neck is longer. Traditionally it is used folk string musical groups, together with the guitar and the bandurria.

Bandurria
La bandurria est un instrument de musique à cordes pincées ayant donné son nom à l'ensemble des instruments qui compose le groupe des luths espagnols, c’est-à-dire bandurria soprano, mezzo soprano, ténor, baryton, basse et basse noble même si tous reçoivent d'autres noms tel que bandurrín, laúd, laudón, réservant ainsi le nom de bandurria au seul instrument aigu. On les retrouve aux Philippines suite à la colonisation espagnole.

Laúd
El laúd (del árabe العود al-`ūd) es un instrumento de cuerda pulsada, cuyo origen se remonta a la Edad Media. Tiene una forma parecida a la bandurria, pese a que su caja de resonancia es de un tamaño mayor y su sonido algo más grave.
Por extensión, también se designa laúd a todo instrumento en el que las cuerdas se sitúan en un plano paralelo a la caja, a lo largo de un mástil saliente.
