Robot je
stroj pracující s urcitou mírou samostatnosti, vykonávající urcené úkoly, a to predepsaným zpusobem a pri ruzných mírách potreby interakce s okolním svetem a se zadavatelem: Robot je schopen své okolí vnímat pomocí
senzoru, zasahovat do nej, prípadne si o nem vytváret vlastní predstavu,
model. Vnímáním sveta nejenže muže poznávat svet samotný, ale muže také vyhodnocovat svuj vliv na nej a využívat tak
zpetnou vazbu. Robot je fyzickou realizací obecnejšího pojmu agent.
