Kilometre
The kilometre (American spelling: kilometer; SI symbol: km) is a unit of length in the metric system, equal to one thousand metres (kilo- being the SI prefix for 1000). It is now the measurement unit used officially for expressing distances between geographical places on land in most of the world; notable exceptions are the United States and the United Kingdom where the statute mile is the official unit used.

Kilometer är en längdenhet i SI-systemet. Ordet består av prefixet kilo och grundenheten meter och en kilometer motsvarar därmed 1 000 meter.

Kilometr
Kilometr (symbol: km) – powszechnie stosowana wielokrotność metra, podstawowej jednostki długości w układzie SI. Dokładniej, kilometr to 1000 metrów. Stowarzyszona i dość często używana jednostka powierzchni to kilometr kwadratowy (symbol: km²), a objętości – kilometr sześcienny (symbol: km³).

Chilometro
Un chilometro (simbolo: km) è una unità di lunghezza del Sistema Internazionale di unità di misura, definita come uguale a mille metri. In italiano si usano come equivalenti i termini kilometro e chilometro; spesso, impropriamente, invece del simbolo standard km viene utilizzato Km. Il termine deriva dalle parole greche khilia = mille e metro = conteggio o misura.
