Al-Waha al-Kharga (meaning the outer oasis) (Arabic الخارجة, Standard Arabic pronunciation al-Khārija, Egyptian colloquial Arabic al-Khārga) is the southernmost of Egypt's five western oases. It is located in the Libyan Desert, about 200 km to the west of the Nile valley, and is some 150 km long. It is located in and is the capital of Al Wadi al Jadid (the New Valley) Province.

L'oasis d'al-Kharga est la plus au sud des cinq grandes oasis du Désert Occidental, en Égypte. Située à environ 200 km de la vallée du Nil, elle s'étend sur 150 km mais sa largeur ne dépasse pas 30 km. Cette riche oasis comporte plusieurs sources et puits d'eau naturelle dont la température, qui atteint 43°C, est réputée comme particulièrement efficaces pour le traitement des rhumatismes et des allergies.

Die Senke el-Charga (, auch el-Kharga) ist die südöstlichste und zugleich größte der fünf bewohnten westägyptischen Senken. Sie befindet sich in der Libyschen Wüste im Bereich von 26° 00' N bis 24° 30' N (Nord – Süd) bzw. 30° 25' O bis 30° 50' O (West – Ost) und erstreckt sich über eine Länge von 150 km in Nord-Süd-Richtung.
