Calorie
The calorie is a pre-SI metric unit of energy. It was first defined by Nicolas Clément in 1824 as a unit of heat, entering French and English dictionaries between 1841 and 1867. In most fields its use is archaic, having been replaced by the SI unit of energy, the joule. However, in many countries it remains in common use as a unit of food energy.

Kalorie (lat. calor „Wärme“; Einheitenzeichen cal) ist eine alte Maßeinheit der Energie, insbesondere der Wärmemenge Q, mit mehreren leicht unterschiedlichen Definitionen. Inzwischen wurde sie von der internationalen SI-Einheit Joule abgelöst.

Calorie (unité)
La calorie (symbole cal) (du latin calor, « chaleur ») est une unité d'énergie calorifique, définie (calorie à 15 °C) comme la quantité de chaleur (ou l'énergie calorifique) nécessaire pour élever la température d'un gramme d'eau de 14,5 °C à 15,5 °C sous la pression atmosphérique normale (1 atm ou 101,325 kPa).
La frigorie est l'équivalent de la kilocalorie négative. Elle est définie (frigorie à 15°C) comme la quantité de chaleur à extraire d'un kilogramme d'eau pour abaisser sa température de 15,5 °C à 14,5 °C.

Kalori är en energienhet, motsvarande 4,184 joule. Enhetssymbolen är cal. Ofta används även kilokalori, som förkortas kcal. 1 kcal = 1000 cal = 4,184 kJ = 4184 J.

Kaloria - (łac. calor - ciepło) historyczna jednostka ciepła, obecnie gdy ciepło jest utożsamiane z energią jest pozaukładową jednostką energii (skrót cal); często używana jest jednostka wielokrotna kilokaloria (skrót kcal); 1 kcal = 1000 cal.
W 1929 roku wprowadzono kalorię międzynarodową.
