In the Hebrew Bible, the Book of Jonah is the fifth book in a series of books called the Minor Prophets. Unlike other prophetic books however, this book is not a record of a prophet’s words toward Israel. Instead of the poetry and prophetic prose of Isaiah or Lamentations, this book tells the story of a reluctant prophet who arguably becomes one of the most effective prophets in the entire Bible.

Le livre de Jonas est un livre de l'Ancien Testament datant du VIII siècle avant J.-C. parlant d'un événement de la vie de Jonas. Jonas aurait vécu au XI avant J.-C. Il n'écrivit probablement pas le livre lui-même. L'idée principale du livre est que Dieu règne partout et ne limite pas son amour à une seule nation ou à un seul peuple.

Jon – atom lub grupa atomów połączonych wiązaniami chemicznymi, która ma niedomiar lub nadmiar elektronów w stosunku do protonów. Obojętne elektrycznie atomy i cząsteczki związków chemicznych posiadają równą liczbę elektronów i protonów, jony zaś są elektrycznie naładowane dodatnio lub ujemnie. Jony naładowane dodatnio nazywa się kationami, zaś ujemnie anionami. Jony mogą występować samodzielnie, w stanie wolnym (zwykle w fazie gazowej) lub tworzą tzw. pary jonowe, które mogą być luźno z sobą związane lub odwrotnie - tworzyć silne wiązania. Silnie związane pary jonowe tworzą chemiczne wiązania jonowe, obecne w wielu związkach chemicznych. Powstanie jonu z obojętnego atomu lub cząsteczki nazywamy jonizacją.
