jiujitsu

, literally meaning the "art or science of softness", is a Japanese martial art consisting primarily of grappling techniques. Jujutsu evolved among the samurai of feudal Japan as a method for dispatching an armed and armored opponent in situations where the use of weapons was impractical or forbidden. Due to the difficulty of dispatching an armored opponent with striking techniques, the most efficient methods for neutralizing an enemy took the form of pins, joint locks, and throws. These techniques were developed around the principle of using an attacker's energy against him, rather than directly opposing it, and came to be known as jujutsu.

Le ju-jitsu, ou jujutsu ou encore jiu-jitsu, regroupe des techniques de combat qui furent développées durant l'ère féodale du Japon pour se défendre lorsque l'on est désarmé. Ces techniques sont classées en 3 catégories principales : Atemi waza (technique de frappe) ; Nage waza (technique de projection) et Katame waza (technique de contrôle) afin de maîtriser un adversaire.

Jiu Jitsu [] (jap. ; „Die sanfte Kunst“ bzw. „Die Wissenschaft von der Nachgiebigkeit“) – ehemals auch als Yawara bekannt – ist eine von den japanischen Samurai stammende Kampfkunst der waffenlosen Selbstverteidigung. Jiu Jitsu kann unabhängig vom Alter und Geschlecht trainiert werden und bietet ein breites Spektrum von Möglichkeiten zur Selbstverteidigung, und – unter anderem durch Stärkung des Charakters und Selbstbewusstseins – zur friedlichen Lösung von Konflikten.

Il Jūjutsu (柔術), conosciuto anche come Jujitsu, è un'arte marziale giapponese il cui nome significa letteralmente jū: flessibile, cedevole, morbido e jutsu: arte, tecnica, pratica. Veniva talvolta chiamato anche taijutsu (arti del corpo) oppure yawara (sinonimo di jū).Il jūjutsu era praticato dai bushi (guerrieri) che se ne servivano per giungere all'annientamento fisico dei propri avversari provocandone anche la morte,a mani nude o con armi. Il jūjutsu è un'arte di attacco e difesa personale che basa i suoi principi sulle radici del nome originale giapponese: HEY YO SHIN KORE DO, ovvero "il morbido vince il duro". In molte arti marziali, oltre all'equilibrio del corpo, conta molto anche la forza di cui si dispone. Nel Ju Jitsu, invece, la forza della quale si necessita proviene proprio dall'avversario. Più si cerca di colpire forte, maggiore sarà la forza che si ritorcerà contro. Il principio, quindi, sta nell'applicare una determinata tecnica proprio nell'ultimo istante dell'attacco subito, con morbidezza e cedevolezza, in modo che l'avversario non si accorga di una difesa e trovi, davanti a sé, il vuoto.
