j'adoube

J’adoube [] is a French expression (English: "I adjust"), internationally recognised by chess players as announcing the intent to make incidental contact with their pieces.The phrase is used to give warning from a player to his opponent that he is about to touch one of his pieces, typically to centralise it on its square, without the intent of making a move with it. The touched piece rule requires that such a warning be given. Whilst this French term is customary, it is not obligatory; other similar indications may be used. A player may adjust a piece in this way only when it is his turn to move.

Au jeu d'échecs, un joueur qui veut replacer une pièce mal positionnée sur l'échiquier, doit le signaler à son adversaire en disant au préalable « J'adoube » ou « I adjust », le joueur ayant le trait peut rectifier la position d’une ou de plusieurs pièces sur leur case. Dans le cas contraire, il peut se voir contraint de jouer cette pièce s'il a le trait et s'il peut le faire.

j'adoube ([], frz. adouber = „ausbessern“, hier: „ich rücke zurecht“) ist ein Begriff aus dem Schachspiel.J'adoube oder eine andere eindeutige Ankündigung muss ein Schachspieler sagen, bevor er eine ungenau platzierte Spielfigur korrekt auf ein Spielfeld setzt, weil sonst als Regel gilt: „Berührt, geführt!“ Hat man einen eigenen Spielstein absichtlich berührt, muss dieser gezogen werden, hat man einen feindlichen absichtlich berührt, muss dieser geschlagen werden, wenn dies nach den Regeln möglich ist, egal wie ungünstig die entsprechende Aktion für einen selbst sein mag. Die Figuren des Gegners zurechtzurücken gilt aber eher als unhöflich.

J'Adoube (em francês, eu arrumo, eu endireito) é um termo que pode ser utilizado por um dos enxadristas para indicar que tocará nas suas peças e/ou nas do adversário, para bem posicioná-las em suas casas, não infringindo a Regra da Peça Tocada. Na atualidade, com a hegemonia lingüística que vem demonstrando a língua inglesa, vem se firmando o uso de I Adjust em substituição ao termo francês e com o mesmo significado.
