insert edit
referring to video editing, a style where new sequences are laid down on top of an existing continuous control track; while requiring more preparation than assemble editing (which places sequences one after the other), the result is likely to have fewer errors in timing
INSERT EDIT
An electronic edit in which the existing control track is not replaced during the editing process. The new segment is inserted into program material already recorded on the video tape.
Insert Edit
Placing a section of a source clip in the time line with the media currently to the right of the insertion point is moved farther to the right to accommodate the insertion of the new clip.
