Incense is composed of aromatic organic materials. It releases fragrant smoke when burned. The term incense refers to the substance itself, rather than to the odor that it produces. According to the Greek journalist Ch. Papachristopoulos and his Insensé theory, incense can be even a human person: he is called Insensé then and he has synaesthesia. As a result, he becomes a priest of ancient rites which he can modernize and introduce to the modern world.
