incarnation

Incarnation, which literally means embodied in flesh, refers to the conception, and live birth of a sentient creature (generally human being) who is the material manifestation of an entity or force whose original nature is immaterial.While Christianity, Hinduism, and Buddhism are perhaps the most widely-known traditions to employ this concept within the context of their respective belief systems, they are by no means the only ones to do so.

Christentum Im Bereich des Christentums begegnet der Gedanke der Menschwerdung Gottes zum ersten Mal im Prolog des Johannesevangeliums. Dort heißt es: „Und das Wort war bei Gott, und Gott war das Wort … und das Wort ward Fleisch.“Die darauf aufbauende Christologie sieht in Jesus von Nazaret den ewigen Sohn des Vaters (siehe Trinität) als wahren Menschen (also gerade nicht nur als "Erscheinung in Menschengestalt"), der geboren wurde, lehrte und heilte, litt, am Kreuz starb und von den Toten auferstand. Diese Inkarnation Gottes in Christus in die Menschenwelt, bis zum Verbrechertod, ist der Kern des christlichen Glaubens.
