Illinois
Illinois ( ) is the 25th most extensive and the 5th most populous of the 50 United States, and is often noted as a microcosm of the entire country. With Chicago in the northeast, small industrial cities and great agricultural productivity in central and northern Illinois, and natural resources like coal, timber, and petroleum in the south, Illinois has a broad economic base. Illinois is a major transportation hub. The Port of Chicago connects the state to other global ports from the Great Lakes, via the Saint Lawrence Seaway, to the Atlantic Ocean; as well as the Great Lakes to the Mississippi River, via the Illinois River. For decades, O'Hare International Airport has ranked as one of the world's busiest airports. Illinois has long had a reputation as a bellwether both in social and cultural terms and politics.

Illinois
Illinois [] ist ein US-amerikanischer Bundesstaat. Er liegt im mittleren Westen und grenzt im Nordosten an den Michigansee. Der Name kommt aus der Algonkin-Sprache und dem Französischen und bezeichnet das Volk der Illiniwek, das früher das Land bewohnte. Unter anderem befindet sich die Millionenstadt Chicago in Illinois. Der offizielle Beiname Illinois ist „Land of Lincoln“ – Lincolns Land; 1830 zog Abraham Lincoln (16. US-Präsident) nach Illinois, wo er bis zu seiner Wahl als Präsident wohnte und wo sich heute sein Grab befindet.

Illinois
L'Illinois (en anglais : ) est un État du Middle West des États-Unis. Son nom vient de la tribu amérindienne des Illinois qui y vivaient. Il est bordé au nord-est par le lac Michigan. Les États voisins sont le Wisconsin au nord, l'Iowa et le Missouri à l'ouest, le Kentucky au sud et l'Indiana à l'est. Au nord-est de l'État se trouve la ville de Chicago, la troisième des États-Unis, qui concentre à elle seule plus du cinquième de la population totale de l'État.

Illinois
Illinois är amerikansk delstat i USA och är den folkrikaste och mest demografiskt olika delstaten i Mellanvästern och den femte folkrikaste delstaten i landet. Med Chicago i nordöst, små industristäder och stor jordbruksproduktivitet i centrala och västra Illinois och naturresurser såsom kol, timmer och olja i söder har Illinois en bred ekonomisk bas. Illinois är en viktig transporthubb; hamnen i Chicago förbinder de Stora sjöarna med Mississippifloden via Illinois River. Illinois ses ofta som ett mikrokosmos av USA; en Associated Press-analys av 21 demografiska faktorer fann Illinois den "mest genomsnittliga delstaten", medan Peoria har länge varit en ökänd social och kulturell ledartyp.

Ill
Ill ([il]) - rzeka w północno-wschodniej Francji, przepływająca przez równiny Alzacji, lewy (zachodni) dopływ Renu, przepływający m.in. przez Strasburg.
Ciągnie się przez 223 km. Swe źródła ma w alzackiej części Jury, w miejscowości Winkel, natomiast w miejscowości Ligsdorf znajduje się wywierzysko rzeki (obydwie miejscowości leżą w departamencie Haut-Rhin).
Następnie przebiega na wschód od Ferrette. Ciągnie się w kierunku północnym równolegle do Renu. Wpada do niej kilka dopływów z Wogezów, które rozciągają się od zachodniej strony rzeki (m.in. Doller i Thur). Poza tym do Ill (jej prawego brzegu) wpadają małe rzeki, które swój początek mają w Renie. Uchodzi do Renu w miejscowości Gambsheim (departament Bas-Rhin).
