Human
Humans, or human beings, are
bipedal primates belonging to the
mammalian species Homo sapiens (
Latin: "wise man" or "knowing man") in the family
Hominidae (the great
apes). Compared to other living organisms on Earth, humans have a
highly developed brain capable of abstract
reasoning,
language, and
introspection. This mental capability, combined with an erect body carriage that frees their upper limbs for manipulating objects, has allowed humans to make far greater use of
tools than any other species.
DNA evidence indicates that modern humans originated in
Africa about 200,000 years ago, and they now inhabit every
continent,
with a total population of over 6.6 billion
as of 2007.

"−Human" (pronounced "Minus Human") is a song by
Metallica from their album
S&M. The song (along with "
No Leaf Clover") was one of two new pieces completed for the band's collaboration with the
San Francisco Symphony in
1999. Written by
James Hetfield and
Lars Ulrich, "−Human" was said by Metallica to be similar to "
Sad But True" in construction (in that the primary focus of the song is on the guitar riff). The demo name for the song was "Plod". Abbreviated as "-Human" it was the fourth song played in the second part of S&M concert after "
For Whom the Bell Tolls". The song features an intro from the orchestra, and then enters the main riff. In the S&M documentary,
Kirk Hammett said that "It was a bit wobbly here and there and none of the parts are particularly finalized." According to Lars Ulrich, "-Human" was written in two weeks.

Der Mensch (Homo sapiens) ist innerhalb der
biologischen Taxonomie ein
Säugetier aus der
Ordnung der
Primaten (Primates). Er gehört zur
Unterordnung der
Trockennasenaffen (Haplorhini) und dort zur
Familie der
Menschenaffen (Hominidae). Unter den Lebewesen zeichnen den Menschen vor allem zahlreiche
kognitive Fähigkeiten aus. Diese konstituieren letztlich die menschliche
Kultur und Gesellschaft sowie die Fähigkeiten zur
Reflexion und
Transzendenz. Früher wurden Mensch (Hominidae) und Menschenaffen (Pongidae) insbesondere aufgrund der besonderen geistigen Entwicklung des Menschen als zwei getrennte Familien betrachtet, jüngere Untersuchungen sehen zwischen beiden Gruppen ein engeres Verwandtschaftsverhältnis und stellen sie daher in eine gemeinsame Familie. Der moderne Mensch ist die einzige bis heute überlebende Art der Gattung
Homo.

humanitas) ist die praktische Umsetzung der Ideen des
Humanismus. Der Begriff bezeichnet die allgemeine
Menschenliebe, Mitmenschlichkeit und
Nächstenliebe. Sie ist keine Beschreibung dessen, was menschlich (also eine tatsächliche Eigenschaft des Menschen) ist, sondern eher dessen, was wünschenswert ist.

Ziemię. Człowiek anatomicznie współczesny powstał 200-150 tysięcy lat temu w Afryce. Mniej więcej 100 tysięcy lat temu dotarł na Bliski Wschód, ok. 60tys. lat temu do Australii, a prawie 40tys. lat temu do Europy (był to tzw. kromaniończyk, czyli człowiek z Cro Magnon- od nazwy stanowiska archeologicznego we Francji).

Death. Human fu il disco dei
Death che cambiò l'atteggiamento stilistico del gruppo. Il sound di questo disco, infatti, risulta molto più tecnico e progressivo rispetto ai tre dischi precedenti, caratterizzati invece da un approccio più brutale. I testi poi, sono maggiormente
introspettivi, l'opposto di quelli
grandguignoleschi dei primi album. Questo stile si evolverà in tutti i successivi dischi del gruppo
floridiano. Nei crediti di Human c'è una dedica a
Roger Patterson, eclettico bassista degli
Atheist morto in un incidente stradale.
