Holland is a region in the western part of the Netherlands. The term Holland is also frequently used as a pars pro toto to refer to the whole of the Netherlands. This usage is generally accepted but disliked by Dutch people in the other parts of the Netherlands.

Holland ist ein Teil der Niederlande, der im Westen von der Nordsee und im Osten vom IJsselmeer begrenzt wird. Holland teilt sich auf in die Provinzen Nordholland und Südholland. Die nördliche Grenze liegt bei Den Helder und der Insel Texel, die südliche liegt im Delta von Rhein, Maas und Schelde. In Holland befinden sich unter anderem die Großstädte Den Haag, Rotterdam und Amsterdam, die Teil des Ballungsraumes Randstad sind. Im Westen, an der Nordsee, befinden sich entlang der Küste überwiegend Dünen, landeinwärts sind flache Polder vorzufinden. Der Großteil Hollands liegt unterhalb des Meeresspiegels.

François Hollande est un homme politique français, premier secrétaire du Parti socialiste de 1997 à 2008, maire de Tulle de 2001 à 2008, conseiller général du canton de Vigeois, président du conseil général de la Corrèze et député de la première circonscription de la Corrèze.
