Uma sociedade gestora de participações sociais (conhecida em inglês por holding) é forma de sociedade criada com o objetivo de administrar um grupo delas (conglomerado). Na holding, essa empresa criada para administrar possui a maioria das ações ou quotas das empresas componentes de determinado grupo de empresas. Essa forma de sociedade é muito utilizada por médias e grandes corporações e normalmente visa melhorar a estrutura de capital da empresa ou como parte de alguma parceria com outras empresas.
