• Er kann sich in einer Beeinträchtigung oder Verfälschung der Wahrnehmung ausdrücken, im Extrem kann es zu Halluzinationen kommen.
• Er kann Ausdruck eines besonders intensiven oder partiell intensivierten Erlebens sein, das sich in manchen Fällen bis zur Euphorie oder Ekstase steigern kann, aber auch in verstärkten Angstgefühlen äußern kann.

High est une chanson du groupe The Cure figurant sur l'album Wish et sortie en single le avec en face B le titre inédit This Twilight Garden. Le maxi, en support vinyle ou CD, contient une chanson inédite supplémentaire, Play et offre un remix de High (Higher Mix).

High è un brano pop/folk rock scritto dal cantautore inglese James Blunt e Ricky Ross (cantante del gruppo scozzese Deacon Blue) per l'album di debutto di Blunt Back to Bedlam (2004). La canzone è stata prodotta da Tom Rothrock e Jimmy Hogarth ed è il singolo è stato rilasciato nell'autunno del 2004 ma non è neppure entrata in classifica. Soltanto in seguito al successo do "You're Beautiful", "High" è stata eipubblicata nell'autunno del 2005, ed è dvientata un enorme successo in tutto il mondo, ed in amaniera particolare in  Italia e nel Regno Unito.
