Hideto Matsumoto (jap. 松本 秀人 Matsumoto Hideto, 13. Dezember 1964 in Yokosuka, Präfektur Kanagawa, Japan; † 2. Mai 1998), meistens Hide genannt (meistens schrieb er sich mit kleinem "h" also "hide"), war ein japanischer Visual Kei- und J-Rock-Musiker. Berühmt wurde er als Gitarrist der Band X Japan, später war er auch als Solokünstler erfolgreich. Hide gilt bis heute als einer der einflussreichsten Gitarristen der japanischen Rock-Geschichte.

Hide była to stworzona w VII wieku w średniowiecznej Anglii podstawowa jednostka ziemska, której głównym celem było ułatwienie poboru podatków i wyekwipowanie odpowiednio uzbrojonych wojowników. Obejmowała obszar kilku wsi o powierzchni od 6 do 12 hektarów. Grupa pięciu hide miała za zadanie wysłać jednego żołnierza podczas fyrdu. Dziesięć hide było formowanych w dziesiątki, dziesięć dziesiątek w setki, kilka setek w hrabstwo.
