Krautige Pflanze
Krautige Pflanzen sind alle Pflanzen, die kein sekundäres Dickenwachstum aufweisen und damit nicht verholzen. Es gibt einjährige, zweijährige und mehrjährige krautige Pflanzen. (Mehrjährige und ausdauernde Pflanzen sind ähnliche Begriffe, allerdings gibt es bei den mehrjährigen plurienne Pflanzen und perennierende Pflanzen).

Plante herbacée
Herbacé est un terme qui dans le langage courant ou pour les botaniste désignait au XVIIIe siècle toutes les plantes « tendres, grêles, et qui ne sont point ligneuses », ou « jeunes tiges des plantes, lorsqu'elles sont encore tendres et succulentes ». Un siècle plus tard l'académie française insiste sur l'opposition herbacé - ligneux en présidant que les herbacés sont aussi « des plantes dont la tige est tendre et périt après la fructification ». on peut donc parler de « Plante herbacée » et de « Tige herbacée ». le même dictionnaire académique, dans sa version de 1932 est plus simple : Est herbacé ce « qui est de la nature de l'herbe ».

Roslina zielna
Roślina zielna – roślina o delikatnej, soczystej, niezdrewniałej łodydze rozwijającej się nad ziemią. Łodyga pokryta jest pierwotną tkanką okrywającą, czyli skórką. W klimacie umiarkowanym okres wegetacyjny roślin zielnych kończy się z chwilą nadejścia mrozów.

Kruid (keuken)
Een kruid of keukenkruid is een plant die gebruikt kan worden om de geur en smaak van gerechten te verbeteren.
Sommige kruiden bestaan uit vermalen plantenwortels, andere uit bladeren, zaden, stengels of vruchtdelen.
Er is een verschil tussen kruiden en specerijen, hoewel ze beide gebruikt worden om spijzen op smaak te brengen. Specerijen komen meestal uit landen met een tropisch of subtropisch klimaat en zijn meestal niet afkomstig van kleine groene planten, zoals kruiden. Keukenkruiden en specerijen zijn hieronder in de tabel bij elkaar geplaatst.
