Habitus - system schematów myśli, percepcji, oceniania i działania. Koncepcja ta - stworzona przez Arystotelesa, a rozwinięta przez P. Bourdieu, zakłada, że habitusem jest całe pomysłotwórcze otoczenie określonej osoby. Obejmuje to także osobiste wierzenia, skłonności oraz sposoby rozwiązywania problemów (wybór drogi, odpowiednie zachowanie). Teoria habitusu kwestionuje założenia koncepcji wolnej woli (ang. free will), z racji tego, że zakłada ograniczoną (przez usposobienie, czy gotowość do działania) możliwość wyboru. Jednak człowiek nie jest automatem, ponieważ każdy habitus wykazuje pewną elastyczność, ale żaden nie jest wyłącznie wolną wolą.
