The Germanic peoples are a historical group of  Indo-European-speaking peoples, originating in Northern Europe and identified by their use of the Germanic languages which diversified out of Common Germanic in the course of the Pre-Roman Iron Age. The Germanic-speaking peoples of the Roman Iron Age and the Migration Period display a uniform material culture and common religious beliefs, even though recent scholarship has contested the existence of a distinct Germanic ethnicity.

Fernando Germani (* 5. April 1906 in Rom; † 10. Juni 1998 ebenda) war ein italienischer Organist, Komponist und Orgelpädagoge. Bereits als Kind zeigte sich Germanis musikalische Begabung. Mit vier Jahren spielte er öffentlich Klavier und Violine, und mit acht Jahren bekam er ersten Kompositionsunterricht von Ottorino Respighi, der ihn auch auf die Orgel aufmerksam machte. Zum Organisten des Augusteo-Sinfonieorchesters in Rom wurde er mit fünfzehn berufen.

Germanie, inaczej Germanowie - odłam Indoeuropejczyków żyjący w północnej i środkowo-północnej Europie, na północ od ludów celtyckich, posługujący się językami germańskimi. W epoce brązu zamieszkiwali tereny Skandynawii, Jutlandii i części Niemiec. Wg Tacyta (I w. n.e.) Germanie dzielili się na Ingewonów, Hermionów i Istewonów, wymienia też Swebów (Swewów), Wandalów, Chattów, Fryzów, Chauków i Cherusków, Semnonów (prawdopodobnie należących do Swebów) i Longobardów (również należących do Swebów), Anglów, Hermundurów, Markomanów, Kwadów, Bastarnów, Gotów, Gepidów, Swinonów i Sytonów.
