Gas is one of the three classical states of matter (the others being liquid and solid). Near absolute zero, a substance exists as a solid. As heat is added to this substance it melts into a liquid at its melting point (see phase change), boils into a gas at its boiling point, and if heated high enough would enter a plasma state in which the electrons are so energized that they leave their parent atoms from within the gas. A pure gas may be made up of individual atoms (e.g. a noble gas or atomic gas like neon), elemental molecules made from one type of atom (e.g. oxygen), or compound molecules made from a variety of atoms (e.g. carbon dioxide). A gas mixture would contain a variety of pure gases much like the air. What distinguishes a gas from liquids and solids is the vast separation of the individual gas particles. This separation usually makes a colorless gas invisible to the human observer. The interaction of gas particles in the presence of electric and gravitational fields are considered negligible as indicated by the constant velocity vectors in the image.

Gas-s-s-s (also known as Gas! or It Became Necessary to Destroy the World in Order to Save It) is a 1971 motion picture produced and released by American International Pictures. Im Vergleich zum Festkörper oder zur Flüssigkeit nimmt die gleiche Masse als Gas unter Normalbedingungen den rund tausend- bis zweitausendfachen Raum ein.

Gas är ett av de fyra huvudsakliga aggregationstillstånd materia kan befinna sig i. I en gas rör sig var och en av de ingående molekylerna (och i vissa fall atomer) helt oberoende av de övriga. Ett ämne går vanligtvis från fast till flytande till gas och sedan vidare till plasma när temperaturen ökar. I vissa fall kan dock ett ämne gå direkt från fast till gasfas; detta kallas sublimation. Galenskaparna och After Shave är samlingsnamnet för humorgruppen Galenskaparna respektive barbershopgruppen After Shave från Göteborg. GAZ (ros. ГАЗ, skrót od Горьковский автомобильный завод) - marka rosyjskich samochodów produkowanych przez fabrykę Gorkowskij Awtomobilnyj Zawod w Niżnym Nowogrodzie (w latach 1932-1990 noszącym nazwę Gorki, stąd nazwa fabryki). Pod marką GAZ produkowane były samochody osobowe, ciężarowe i terenowe. Fabryka wytwarzała również pojazdy wojskowe.

Gaz - stan skupienia materii, w którym ciało fizyczne łatwo zmienia kształt i zajmuje całą dostępną mu przestrzeń. Właściwości te wynikają z własności cząsteczek, które w fazie gazowej mają pełną swobodę ruchu. Wszystkie one cały czas przemieszczają się w przestrzeni zajmowanej przez gaz i nigdy nie zatrzymują się w jednym miejscu. Między cząsteczkami nie występują żadne oddziaływania dalekozasięgowe, a jeśli, to bardzo słabe. Jedyny sposób, w jaki cząsteczki na siebie oddziałują, to zderzenia. Oprócz tego, jeśli gaz jest zamknięty w naczyniu, to jego cząsteczki stale zderzają się ze ściankami tego naczynia, wywierając na nie określone i stałe ciśnienie.
